研究业绩
胺在天然产物,API,Bulk chemical等多种地方出现的官能团、因此在合成化学中,胺的合成也显得尤为重要。Turner因为monoamine oxidase (MAO)[1]与最近imine reductase (IRED)[2]reductive aminase [3]胺合成酶的开发而闻名。由于能够高对映选择性地合成未保护的手性胺,这些酶的开发吸引了业界的广泛关注。
此外,除了活用wild type的酶之外,他也通过使用Directed Evolution对酶进行修饰,以达到扩大底物适用范围以及实现工业生产[4]。
同时、也在进行运用Biocatalyst进行天然产物与医药品的合成的研究[5]。
其他
- 他的妻子Sabine L. Flitsch也在同一个研究所,主宰这另一个研究室。夫妻俩也在进行着合作研究。
